Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 clove Garlic halved
  • 1 cup Dry white wine
  • 8 oz Gruyere cheese shredded
  • 8 oz Emmental cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Kirsch optional
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg grated
  • 1 pinch White pepper ground

Instructions 

  1. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the garlic halves, then discard the garlic.
  2. Pour the wine into the pot and heat until hot but not boiling.
  3. Gradually add the cheese, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the lemon juice and add to the cheese mixture.
  5. Add the kirsch, nutmeg, and white pepper, and continue to cook, stirring, until thickened.
  6. Serve immediately with bread cubes, vegetables, or other dippers.
