Chicken Croquettes Recipe

Main Ingredients
- 2 cups Cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs
- 1 cup Milk
- ¼ cup All-purpose flour
- 1 Egg beaten
- ½ cup Onion finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Butter
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg optional
- 1 cup Vegetable oil for frying
1. In a pan, melt the butter and sauté the onions until translucent.
2. Add flour to the pan and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
3. Gradually add milk, whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens.
4. Add shredded chicken, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.
5. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool. Once cooled, shape into small croquettes.
6. Dip each croquette in the beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
7. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the croquettes until golden brown on all sides.
8. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
