  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 large onions sliced into rings
  • as needed vegetable oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, egg, baking powder, salt, paprika, and garlic powder until smooth.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Dip the onion rings into the batter, ensuring they are well-coated.
  4. Carefully place the battered onion rings into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the onion rings from the oil using tongs and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
