Chicken and Broth
- 1 whole Chicken cut into pieces
- 8 cups Water
- 2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Milk
- ¼ cup Butter melted
Place the chicken in a large pot and cover with water. Add salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until chicken is cooked through, about 30 minutes.
Remove chicken from the pot and let cool. Shred the meat and discard the bones.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and melted butter until a dough forms.
Drop spoonfuls of dough into the simmering broth. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes, until dumplings are cooked through.
Return shredded chicken to the pot and heat through. Serve hot.
