Texas Sheet Cake Recipe

Cake
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 4 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Frosting
- ½ cup butter
- 4 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 6 tablespoon milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar.
In a saucepan, bring water, butter, oil, and cocoa to a boil. Pour over flour mixture and stir.
Add eggs, buttermilk, baking soda, vanilla, and salt. Mix well.
Pour batter into prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes.
For frosting, melt butter in a saucepan. Add cocoa and stir. Remove from heat and add milk, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Mix until smooth.
Pour frosting over warm cake. Let cool before serving.
