Ingredients

  • 500 g Lamb or Chicken thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano dried
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme dried
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 4 pieces Pita Bread warmed
  • 1 cup Tzatziki Sauce
  • 1 cup Tomatoes diced
  • 1 cup Red Onion sliced
  • 1 cup Lettuce shredded

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine garlic, olive oil, oregano, thyme, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. 2. Add the sliced meat to the bowl and mix well to coat. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. 3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the meat until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. 4. Warm the pita bread in a dry skillet or in the oven.
  5. 5. Assemble the gyros: place some cooked meat on each pita, top with tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, red onion, and lettuce. Serve immediately.
