  • 4 large potatoes peeled and grated
  • 1 small onion grated
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. 1. Grate the potatoes and onion, then place them in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out the excess moisture.
  2. 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes, grated onion, beaten eggs, flour, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. 3. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. 4. Drop spoonfuls of the potato mixture into the hot oil, flattening them with the back of the spoon to form patties.
  5. 5. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. 6. Serve hot with applesauce or sour cream.
